Justine Mettraux is one of Switzerland’s most accomplished offshore sailors. Raised in Versoix, she was steering her family’s boat from a young age. At 16, she joined the Geneva Regatta Training Centre, where she sharpened her competitive edge. In 2013, she made headlines by finishing second in the Mini Transat. Prestigious races followed, including the Solitaire du Figaro and the Volvo Ocean Race.

In 2024, she broke the world record and made history: at the legendary Vendée Globe, she became the first woman to finish eighth – an outstanding achievement in one of the world’s toughest solo races.
